Mica Powder is a mineral product used to add colour to soaps, resin, cosmetics, etc.
Micas are not recommended for use in candles.
Mica powder is a naturally occurring mineral dust that is created by the grinding and crushing of mica minerals. This fine, silky powder is available in a wide range of colors and is commonly used in various industries, including cosmetics, paint, and plastics. It is also valued for its ability to reflect light, making it a popular ingredient in highlighters and other makeup products. Additionally, mica powder is non-toxic and gentle on the skin, making it a safe choice for cosmetic applications.
Instructions to use in Cold Process: Disperse the appropriate amount of Mica in a light weight oil in a 1:3 ratio and add to your soap. IE. If you are using 1kg of oils, disperse 1 tablespoon of Mica in 3 tablespoons of lightweight oil and add a tablespoon at a time until desired colour is achieved.
Instructions to use in Hot Process: Disperse the appropriate amount of Mica in a light weight oil in a 1:3 ratio and add to your soap. IE. If you are using 1kg of oils, disperse 1 tablespoon of Mica in 3 tablespoons of lightweight oil and add a tablespoon at a time until desired colour is achieved. Colour should be added after cooking, just before moulding your Hot process soap.
Instructions to use in Melt & Pour: Disperse the appropriate amount of Mica in Isopropyl Alcohol in a 1:3 ratio and add to your soap. IE. If you are using 1kg of Melt and Pour Soap, disperse 1 teaspoon of Mica in 3 teaspoons of Isopropyl Alcohol and add a teaspoon at a time until desired colour is achieved.
