Mica is the name given to a group of silicate minerals which can be ground down into a sparkling powder for use in beauty products, causing it to be referred to as “nature’s glitter”. Colours vary between the different minerals, from silver and white to pink and purple tones.

cold process application:
Recommended for Cold Process: Yes
See image above for result in Cold Process soap. Our in-house testing was conducted following the usage rate of 1 tablespoon of mica per 1kg of oil. Please note that you should always conduct your own testing and can add more or less colourant to achieve your desired colour.
Instructions to use in Cold Process: Disperse the appropriate amount of Mica in a light weight oil in a 1:3 ratio and add to your soap. IE. If you are using 1kg of oils, disperse 1 tablespoon of Mica in 3 tablespoons of lightweight oil and add a tablespoon at a time until desired colour is achieved.
hot process application:
Recommended for Hot Process: Yes
Disperse the appropriate amount of Mica in a light weight oil in a 1:3 ratio and add to your soap. IE. If you are using 1kg of oils, disperse 1 tablespoon of Mica in 3 tablespoons of lightweight oil and add a tablespoon at a time until desired colour is achieved. Colour should be added after cooking, just before moulding your Hot process soap.
melt & pour application:

If you are using 1kg of Melt and Pour Soap, disperse 1 teaspoon of Mica in 3 teaspoons of Isopropyl Alcohol and add a teaspoon at a time until desired colour is achieved.
