Preparing the Mould

  1. Set Up Your Workspace:
    Place newspaper or protective paper on your surface — pouring soap or wax can be messy. Ensure you’re working on a flat and sturdy surface.

  2. Prepare the Mould:
    Make sure the silicone mould is clean and dry before use.

Pouring

  • Follow the step-by-step guidelines provided for the specific wax or soap base you’re using.
  • Ensure your melted product is at the correct pouring temperature — use a digital thermometer for accuracy.
  • Pour slowly into the mould to avoid air bubbles. You can make use of a pipette to fill smaller embed cavities.
  • Note: The volume of each mould may differ depending on your blend or base. Some shrinkage can occur as the material cools and sets.

After Pouring

  • Allow the embeds to set and cool completely before demoulding.
  • Soap embeds: Leave to set for a few hours or until firm.
  • Candle embeds: Leave for at least 12 hours, ensuring the wax is completely solid and the mould feels cool.
  • Avoid moving or touching the mould during this stage to maintain smooth surfaces and clean edges.

Unmoulding

  • Gently pull back the sides of the silicone mould to loosen the shape.
  • Peel back the mould carefully, supporting the embed to avoid distortion or breakage.
  • If needed, trim any excess from the base using a small knife or blade for a clean finish.
