Small Wax Melting Pot

The durable small wax melting pot is ideal for candle making. It can hold up to 450ml of Melted wax.

Originally used for melting chocolate, this "double boiler" offers a solution for making candles in smaller batches, and can also be used for melt & pour soap making.

How to Use

Using the small double melting pot is an effective way to melt wax safely and evenly for candle making. It is ideal for smaller batches of wax.

Ensure you have your double melting pot, wax, thermometer, stirring utensil, and any additives like fragrance oils or dyes.
Make sure your workspace is clean and free of any flammable materials.
Fill the water cavity with 300 -350ml of warm water, place it on a stove, on a medium to high temperature.
Take care not to overheat the pot. Add the wax, and stir in intervals until the wax is melted. Always make use of an infrared thermometer to measure the wax temperature at each stir interval.
Avoid the "water jacket" as it may give off hot steam during the melting process.
Ensure that the water is not boiling rapidly in the water jacket.
Once the wax is melted, transfer the wax carefully to the mixing jug.
If using paraffin wax, while the pot is still warm, use a paper towel or cloth to wipe out any remaining wax. Be cautious as the pot will be hot.
If using soy wax, or any natural wax, or melt & pour soap base, wash the pot in warm soapy water.
Use oven mitts or heat-resistant gloves when handling the hot pots to prevent burns.
Ensure no water gets into the wax, as this can cause splattering and potential burns.
Make sure your workspace is stable and free from distractions to prevent accidents.
