Our Smooth Square Mould - the perfect tool for creating stunning, professional-quality candles with ease.
These candle moulds are made from high quality Polycarbonate material. It can withstand frequent usage due to its resistance too high and low temperatures
The Smooth Square Mould - 5cm x 5cm is supplied as a 1 piece mould.
- Material: Polycarbonate
- Estimated Mould Height: 50 mm +-
- Estimated Inside Diameter: 50 mm +-
- Fill Volume: Approx. 100 ml
- LX Wick Suggestions: LX14 / LX16
- Own Testing is required.
Prepare the mould by selecting the correct wick according to the provided chart on the LX wick range. Measure the wick length, and cut the wick accordingly.
- Depending on the mould, pull the pre-selected and measured wick through the opening of the mould, at the base.
- Secure the wick with a small piece (ball) of either Prestik or our moulding clay to stick it into place and to “seal” it. Remember this will be the top of the candle.
- Thereafter thread the wick through a placeholder at the top of the mould. You might have to remove the placeholder while pouring and place over the mould again to secure into place.
- Lay down some newspaper as pouring any type of candles can be messy.
- Ensure that you work on a sturdy surface and your candle wicks are firmly in place.
- Note that the volume of the mould will differ from wax types.
- Pour to the fill line at the top, keep in mind that the candle might shrink depending on the wax blend selected.
- Follow the step by step instructions available on each of the applicable waxes.
Un-moulding the PC candles
- Leave the candles to cure completely for at least 12 hours.
- The mould should be completely cold and the wax completely set.
- Remove the Prestik or moulding clay seal, gently shake or tap the mould to release the wax from the sides, turn around, and gently remove the candle.
- Trim the wick off the base side of the candle, leaving the wick on the top end long before trimming.
- If the pillar candle is uneven, heat up a pan on the stove and melt the bottom till it is even and can stand. ( do not use the same pan for any cooking)
Special Note: These instructions are based on our in-house testing. You should also explore the handling sheet, and conduct your own testing with fragrance loads, colouring and temperatures
We use the recommended fragrance load per wax you are using in the moulds, using our fragrance range. We advise using a digital thermometer to measure the correct temperature of the wax.
