Specifications:
Origin: USA
Material: Pre-coloured pigment in wax.
Usage: 1 block per 1-1.5L of melted wax
- Select your desired colour from the available options.
- Follow the instructions provided beneath each colour swatch.
- Adjust the ratio of colour to wax to produce different shades effortlessly.
- Please note that the resulting colours may vary depending on the type of wax and fragrance used.
- Measurements for vivid colours is half a block per 1L of melted wax, for a lighter colour half that again, and for a deep colour add a up to a full block.
- To achieve the desired colour intensity, grate your dye block into shavings and gradually incorporate small amounts into your melted wax, always colour before fragrance. You are able to test the colour density by dabbing a drop of coloured wax onto a white surface, eg. a porcelain plate. Continue adding dye, and repeating the drop test until you're satisfied with the hue.
- Each double Dye Block is sized at 5cm x 3cm and can colour up to 3kg of wax to a medium shade. Adjust the quantity for darker or lighter shades; mixing colours is permissible for custom shades. Be aware that adding dye can impact other aspects of the candle, particularly the wick size. Own testing is required
TIPS
- For a darker hue, incorporate a small piece of our Black Dye Block into your dyed wax.
- All dyes naturally fade over time, with lighter colours fading faster than darker ones.
- Avoid overheating dyes in wax, as excessive heat can oxidize the wax (causing it to turn yellow) and degrade the dyes. Most candle makers operate within temperatures of 80-83 degrees C.
- Keep coloured candles away from direct sunlight, as it may cause the colour to fade over time.
